49th annual meeting of the Drug Information Association in Boston

Delegation from Taiwan for the 49th annual meeting of the Drug Information Association (DIA) held a dinner party for regulatory scientists from around the world on June 26, 2013, at Boston, Massachusetts.


Led by Dr. Churn-Shiouh Gau, Executive Director of Taiwan’s Center for Drug Evaluation (CDE), and consisting of more than 20 delegates from drug regulatory authority and biotech/pharmaceutical industries, the delegation from Taiwan attended the 49th annual meeting of DIA held between June 24 and 27, 2013, in Boston. The DIA anneal meeting serves as an important platform for CDE and Taiwan’s regulatory authority to interact and cooperate with its counterparts from around the world with a common mission of safeguarding the general public and patients’ health and safety against the drugs that they intake.

The delegation from Taiwan not only exhibited and showcased its regulatory regime and its latest achievements and development during the meeting, but also had bilateral meetings with delegates from some national drug regulatory authorities discussing bilateral exchanges and cooperation in terms of drug evaluation and regulation. As a tradition of Taiwanese hospitality and an expression of appreciation for the cooperative friendship with other delegations, the delegation of Taiwan held a dinner party for regulatory scientists and officials from around the world on June 26, 2013. Specialty Chinese foods were served, and Chinese and Taiwanese folk art dances and performances were highlights of the party in addition to the joyful karaoke songs performed in various languages by different delegations. About 105 delegates, scientists and executives from biotech/pharmaceuticals companies attended the party and enjoyed the opportunity to mingle and relax.
