Commerce Official Jadotte Visits Taiwan

Assistant Secretary of Commerce For Industry & Analysis Marcus Jadotte visited Taiwan in May with a trade mission delegation of 14 U.S. cybersecurity companies. Jadotte met with government officials and business representatives to exchange views on cybersecurity, as well as business and investment-related issues.
During his time in Taiwan, the Assistant Secretary attended the U.S.-Taiwan Cyber Security Forum, organized by the Taipei Computer Association. beyond exchanges between the delegation and Taiwanese businesses, the Assistant Secretary also signed a Statement of Intent on behalf of the U.S. Department of Commerce with the Taipei Computer Association. The Statement encouraged both sides to explore ways to work together to counter cyber risks and make the internet a safer place for individuals and businesses. He also stated that the SOI "will also pave the way for closer cooperation and sharing of best practices and market research. This will further enhance the commercial ties and activities between the United States and Taiwan."
